The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced that they successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by members of Al-Baraa Battalion into the Sudanese capital. According to RSF sources, the operation resulted in the elimination of the infiltrating force and the securing of several strategic areas, including Al-Nileen Towers, Sharoni, Khartoum 2, Khartoum 3, and extending south to the Abu Hamama district.

An RSF spokesperson stated that several “extremist” members of the Islamist battalions were captured during the operation and will undergo interrogation to determine their connections to terrorist groups in the region.

The spokesperson further noted that RSF had been closely monitoring the movements of Al-Baraa Battalion, allowing them to track and ambush the infiltrators in a designated area. The RSF claimed that the remaining elements of the battalion fled the scene, vowing to continue pursuing them until the threat is fully neutralized.
