Northern State Announces Primary School Certificate Exam Results

The Northern State Ministry of Education announced today, during a press conference held in Dongola, the results of the 2024 primary school certificate examinations. A total of 28,076 students sat for the exams, achieving an overall success rate of 92.4%, a significant improvement compared to the 75.8% success rate recorded in 2023.


Top Achievers and Regional Performance


The top-performing student in the state was Abu Dajana Omar Mohamed Khalifa, from Al-Huda Quranic Private School in Karima, who secured first place with a total score of 279 marks.


At the locality level, Al-Golid ranked first among all localities, achieving a success rate of 96.6% and a performance rate of 73.9%, followed closely by Al-Burayq with a 96.4% success rate and a 73.6% performance rate.


Among administrative units, Al-Hafeer Administrative Unit in Dongola claimed the top position with a 99.3% success rate and a performance rate of 77.5%, followed by Karma Administrative Unit in Al-Burayq, which recorded a 96.9% success rate and a 75% performance rate.


In the category of public schools, Al-Safwa Girls’ School in Dongola secured first place with a 100% success rate, while Al-Khansa Girls’ School in Dongola came in second. Among private institutions, Al-Namozaji Institute in Dongola ranked first, followed by Number One Private Schools in Dongola.


Official Recognition and Continued Support for Education


Speaking at the press conference, Governor of Northern State, Mr. Abideen Awadallah, congratulated all successful students, their families, the Ministry of Education, educational partners, and the local community. He described the results as exceptional, particularly given the ongoing challenges facing the country.


The governor also praised the dedication of teachers in ensuring a smooth academic year and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting education. He emphasized that despite the deliberate attacks on the state’s infrastructure by insurgent terrorist militias, particularly targeting power stations, the government remains steadfast in implementing its development and service projects to meet the aspirations of the state’s residents.


Additionally, the governor commended the armed forces, joint security forces, law enforcement agencies, and popular resistance forces for their continued victories in various conflict areas.

Mr. Al-Tijani Ibrahim Mohamed Az-Zein, Director General of the Northern State Ministry of Education, expressed his appreciation for the unwavering dedication of teachers and their instrumental role in stabilizing the school year despite extraordinary circumstances. He also acknowledged the continuous support provided by the state government, the security committee, organizations, and education partners. According to him, this year’s results reflect a qualitative improvement in educational performance across the state.
