Sudanese media outlets have highlighted Al Hilal’s aggressive tactical approach ahead of their decisive second-leg clash against Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League quarterfinals. The match, scheduled for Tuesday evening, is seen as a make-or-break encounter for the Sudanese side.

Following a narrow 1–0 defeat in the first leg, Al Hilal is reportedly planning to deploy an all-out attacking strategy in a bid to overturn the deficit and secure a place in the semifinals.

The Sudanese newspaper Kora Sudaneya headlined, “Al Hilal Faces the Decisive Battle Against the Club of the Century,” referring to Al Ahly’s historic status. The report emphasized that Al Hilal is counting on fan support in Nouakchott, where the match will be held due to the political instability in Sudan. Local Mauritanian club supporters and members of the Sudanese diaspora are expected to show up in numbers to back the team.

The newspaper added: “Both teams have summoned their top players for a clash that has captured continental attention. For Al Hilal, relentless offensive pressure appears to be the best strategy to compensate for the first-leg loss—while maintaining defensive discipline to prevent Al Ahly from scoring.”

Meanwhile, Akhbar Sudan described the fixture as one of African football’s classic rivalries, with both sides aiming to secure their progression in one of the most prestigious club tournaments on the continent.

The first leg was decided by a solitary goal from Al Ahly’s Mohamed Hany, leaving Al Hilal with no option but to win by a two-goal margin to qualify for the next round.

Kickoff is scheduled for 9:00 PM Cairo time (10:00 PM Saudi time).
