Abu Al-Qasim Al-Houthi, a member of the Islamic Movement’s battalions, was killed during clashes with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, according to field sources.

Al-Houthi had recently returned to Sudan from Qatar, accompanied by his son Munim, to join the ranks of the Islamist battalions. His return came amid shifting political dynamics, particularly the renewed rapprochement between Sudan and Iran, which has strengthened ties between the Sudanese army and the Islamist movement that holds significant influence over power structures in Port Sudan.
Sources indicate that Abu Al-Qasim Al-Houthi, known for his Shiite affiliations, was a supporter of Houthi attacks targeting the Two Holy Mosques. His involvement underscores the broader regional dimensions of Sudan’s conflict, as the country remains entangled in an increasingly complex political and military landscape.
